Once again, we’re stumped with this 1980s picture. Do the houses look familiar to you? Could it be part of the new villages? Could it be the other side of Greentown, as mentioned by some of our previous Readers?

We were told that this is part of Greentown. But where exactly is it? Is this building still there…or is it gone?

Yes, that’s what it says on the fountain. Does anyone know WHO Yeoh Hong Seng is? Is this fountain still at Chamberlain Road/Jalan Bendahara?

Ko-chi Wai sent us this one – showing his aunt (back in 1964) posing with one of the mini rock pagodas at the Japanese Garden in Ipoh. Are these pagodas still there? I admit I’ve not seen one since I last visited the garden…maybe someone out there could tell us more!

Is it someone’s mansion? Maybe part of an office/club? You tell us We’re also wondering WHERE this place is (is it even in Ipoh?).

Since this fountain was erected, many Ipoh-ites have posed for pictures at this very roundabout. I suppose it was possible back then when there wasn’t much traffic – imagine doing photo shoots here in this day and age! And what about those buildings in the background? Any idea what they are?
