If not mistaken, Jalan Lam Looking is the road behind these buildings. I remember seeing the road name and wondering what Lam was looking at.

Yes, the 1st and 2nd shop from the left used to be Cheng Wah Athletic Association. I was born there in 1969. We stay at top floor of the 2nd shop from the left. My father was the goalkeeper for Cheng Wah Football Club and Ramblers before that. We stayed there until 1982. Really sad when they demolished this beautiful row of shophouses.

Hi T Toh. either your second or third guess might be the answer. I’ve seen ‘Bridge on the River Kwai’ (on tv not in the cinema) and I don’t recall such a scene – as shown in the advertisement.

HaHaHa.Is it a war movie?I am a great fan of war movies.I am sure this picture was taken in the late fifties as I was a toddler then.Could it be ‘Halls of Montezuma’ or ‘Battle Cry’.
