I’m sure many of you out there recognise this building (see below)
Do you have any stories about wedding dinners in the Imperial Rom for us please and we would also like to know what’s become of the book store? (see close-up below).
What a nice photo to recall memory of my childhood that used to spent my time along Ali Pitchay Road. Although I was staying in First Gdn but my parents used to stay above Khong Brothers & my relatives were still there during 1980′s. My younger sister full moon dinner was held here in Imperial Room, in Cantonese it pronounced as “Foong Jak Lau”. My dad still always mentioned about this name when talking about the old times….. I don’t remember much about it but there are some photos of the dinner still kept at dad’s drawer.
mashi74, do you think there is any chance of sharing your Dad’s photos with us. We don’t have any of the Imperial Room. If it is OK then 600dpi scans to info@ipohworld.org would be fantastic. Maybe he also has other photos as well?
