Cycling Around Ipoh…
In the background is none other than the Fraser & Neave Ltd Aerated Water building. At the bottom right, there are railway tracks leading towards the F&N building. We don’t know who the gentleman on the bicycle is…neither do we know the date this photograph was taken.

The old F & N warehouse was at Lahat Lane, as was Joo Lan Tobacco factory/warehouse and Eastern Smelting. Further into Lahat Lane, would be the staff quarters of the PWD ( JKR), then a railway line crossing, and the wholesale market.
I think the photo was taken in the 1960s, see the hub brakes, and relatively new bicycle, still with its hand air pump.
