The Perak Confucian Association This picture was taken on 28th September 1922! It was in conjunction with the birthday of Confucius. Does anyone recognise the shophouses in the background? There aren’t many clues, but perhaps someone out there knows WHERE in Ipoh this is? What a picture! I find old photos such as this very intriguing. One favourite pastime of mine is visiting those Chinese clan associations where they still display photos of yore. felicia April 23, 2012 at 3:39 pm - Reply Ah Lai, while visiting these associations….did you ever come across this Association or picture? AHLAI April 23, 2012 at 7:46 pm - Reply Felicia, so far I have not come across any by this name. Charlie September 29, 2012 at 12:50 am - Reply Foo Nyit Tze was the Vice President of this Association and I have been informed that this Association occupied a shophouse along a row of shops that was built by Foo Nyit Tze. This was located along Togo Street, which was renamed Cockman Street, after the Japnnese occupation. ika September 29, 2012 at 1:32 pm - Reply Thanks Charlie, that is very helpful. Now can anyone remember the place in Cockman Street? Leave A Comment Cancel reply Comment Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment. Prove that you are a human!
